1/ What is the closest airport to Baoussala?

Essaouira Airport -> Baoussala = 15 minutes drive

Marrakech Airport -> Baoussala = 2.5 hours drive

2/ How much do taxi transfers cost to get to Baoussala?

3/ Where is Baoussala located?

We are 9km from Essaouira, at the end of the Berber village of Ghazoua, a 10-minute drive from the beaches of Essaouira and those of Sidi Kaouki (beautiful wild beaches south of Essaouira), so we recommend a rental car.

 

4/ How long does it take to get to the beach from Baoussala?

We are a 10-minute drive from the beaches (to the south the wild beach of Sidi Kaouki, to the north: the bay of Essaouira).

 

5/ Can we rent a car?

We encourage you to rent a car for your stay in Baoussala. This will give you plenty of freedom to explore our beautiful region, visit the wild beaches, visit the Berber markets, and explore the surrounding countryside. A rental car can be delivered to you upon arrival at Essaouira airport or to your home whenever you like. The rate is 300 MAD or €30 per day for a Dacia Logan. It's a basic car, but more than enough for our home!

 

6/Can we reserve a car seat (rental car and/or taxi transfer)

Car seats are still not mandatory here in Morocco! We can, of course, reserve one for your car rental or taxi transfer, however, we draw your attention to the fact that the car seats we find here are very often of poor quality. We strongly encourage you to bring your seats with you from Europe. Most airlines agree to check them in the hold free of charge.

 

 

RESERVATION

7/ Do you need a visa to come to Morocco?

No, a visa is not required to come to Morocco. However, you will be asked for a valid passport (as well as for your children). An identity card is not sufficient, because we are not in Europe!

9/ how to book?

Reservations can be made on our website www.baoussala.com . It's very simple and secure.

 

10/ If I book now, do I have to pay for the entire trip?

If your stay begins in less than six months, your bank card will only serve as a guarantee, and nothing will be charged.

If your stay is more than six months away, a 30% deposit will be charged to your credit card as a guarantee. You will pay the remaining balance on arrival in cash (euros or dirhams) or by card.

 

COURSE OF THE STAY

11/ Our plane arrives very early in Essaouira? What time can we arrive in Baoussala?

No worries, we're used to this kind of constraint. You can arrive whenever you want, and we'll serve you a delicious breakfast in the sun! Your room may not be ready until 2 p.m., but you can relax by the pool and have lunch from 12:30 p.m.

 

12/ Our flight leaves very late, how late can we stay on the last day?

No worries, we are used to this kind of constraint, we will ask you to kindly vacate the room around noon, but you can wait at the pool or in the gardens to enjoy your vacation until the end!

 

13/ Do you have travel cots?

Yes, we have travel cots available in Baoussala, which we can provide in your room. Please let us know when you book. We also have high chairs.

 

14/ What facilities do you offer for children?

Baoussala is a paradise for children, they love the heated swimming pool, nature, the turtle garden, our two Golden Retrievers and the trampoline also delight the youngest!

We also have an artist studio where children can create (supplies are not provided).

We have a list of about twenty board games for them as well.

 

15/ Is it possible to have a babysitter come?

Of course, you have to count 15€ for a half-day or 20€ for an evening.

 

16/ Will we be able to do some washing during our stay?

We send your laundry to the dry cleaners. You hand it over to us in the evening, it leaves the next morning, and returns the day after around noon. The rate is €5 per kilo.

 

17/ Do you lend pool towels?

Yes, we provide pool towels. No need to worry!

 

18/ Do you have parking?

You can park your vehicle in front of the entrance to Baoussala. This is public property, but it's safe to do so, and we have surveillance cameras.

 

19/ Is there air conditioning in the rooms?

No, Baoussala is not an air-conditioned house, in fact, we don't need it! The house is traditionally built, has thick stone walls and guarantees us a certain coolness during the hottest months of the year. Moreover, in summer, the trade winds protect us from the intense heat on the coast!

 

20/ Is there heating in the rooms in winter?

Yes, all our rooms are equipped with gas or electric heating, as are the bathrooms. Each room also has a fireplace that we prepare daily for your enjoyment: there's nothing like falling asleep to a roaring fire!

 

REGULATIONS

21/ Can we pay by credit card?

Yes, we accept payment by credit card, VISA, Mastercard, and Diners Club. However, we do not accept payment by American Express.

 

22/ What is your cancellation policy?

- from the booking date to D-31: 30% of the stay

- from D-30 to D-7: 50% of the stay

- from D-7 to the arrival date: 100% of the stay

 

23/ Is there a tourist tax?

Yes, there is a tourist tax of €2.50 per night per person aged 12 and over. This tax is not included in the room rate.

 

RESTORATION

24/ Is breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is included in the room rate. We serve it from 8:30 a.m. with no time limit.

 

25/ Do you offer dinners?

Yes, every evening we offer a "starter, main course, dessert" menu for dinner. We need to know before noon if you will be dining there that evening. The price is €27 for the 3-course menu or €23 for the 2-course menu. The price for children depends on their age: free up to two years old, then 3 years old = €3, 4 years old = €4, etc. up to 12 years old.

Dinners are served, depending on the season, either in the living room by the fireplace or on the patio by candlelight in the summer. Fati prepares delicious traditional cuisine, using local produce purchased at the market, and always adapts to your tastes.

 

26/ Can we have lunch at noon?

We serve lunch every day by the pool. We have a menu with a variety of dishes, including salads, grilled meats, burgers, carpaccios, and more, ranging from €7 to €12. We also offer a children's menu for €7.

 

27/ Do I need to book meals in advance?

For evening dinners, we need to know before noon each day whether you will be dining there or not. For poolside lunches, we don't need to know in advance whether you will be dining there.

 

28/ We are coming to Essaouira on vacation and we would like to come and have dinner or enjoy lunch by the pool, is this possible?

We will be delighted to welcome you for a poolside lunch or dinner in Baoussala, and to show you around. However, prior reservation is required. During high season (school holidays): We may not have space to accommodate you. We invite you to contact us by whatsapp +212 609 76 97 78

The price for access to the swimming pool and lunch is 250 MAD/adult and 130 MAD/child up to 12 years old.

 

29/ Will we be able to access the kitchen to cook?

Baoussala is a hotel, and we offer full-service accommodation. You won't be able to cook for yourself. However, Fati, our cook, is always happy to share her Moroccan culinary secrets with you!

 

30/ Can we store baby food or medicine in the fridge?

Yes, of course, you can store what you need in the fridge in the main kitchen.

 

31/ Can you prepare homemade purees for my baby?

Of course, with great pleasure, this will require a little communication between the girls of our team and yourself, and they will be able to prepare small purees or compotes for your little one.

 

 

PRIVATIZATION AND EVENTS

32/ Can Baoussala be privatized for an event?

Baoussala is an incredible place for an intimate event (wedding, birthday, team building, etc. ..) In case of privatization, we ask for a minimum of three nights, the event taking place on D2. For weddings, we only do one per year, please contact us for more information on this subject.

 

33/ Can we privatize Baoussala for a family stay?

Baoussala can be a great place to bring your whole family together, but during school holidays, it's important to book well in advance. Please contact us for a more detailed quote.

 

 

ACTIVITIES

34/ Can we rent bikes?

There are very few bike rental providers in Essaouira. We are located in the Moroccan countryside, and very few roads are currently paved. Cycling on trails remains a bit complicated. We prefer not to recommend this mode of transport.

 

35/ Do you organize yoga or sports classes?

Our sports coach, Abdel takes care of your fitness, during your stay in Baoussala, he comes at your request for private or semi-private classes of Yoga, Pilates, cardioboxing, stretching, muscle strengthening ... he adapts to your level and adapts to your request (more information and prices here ). It is recommended to book sports sessions with Abdel before your arrival, because he also works in other places, to ensure his availability, it is better to do it a little in advance!

 

36/ Do you have a spa?

We have a Hammam, which is free and open to you for relaxation, and if you'd like a scrub, you'll need to make an appointment. Our masseuse, Bouchra, provides excellent massages and salon treatments at very reasonable prices. Count 35€ for a one-hour massage.

 

37/ How does the Baoussala outdoor cinema work?

The Baoussala outdoor cinema is open from late May to late September. During the summer school holidays, we offer two screenings per week, on Monday and Thursday evenings. The screening begins at 9 p.m.

We have a list of movies and cartoons for all audiences.

Outside of school holidays, we can organize a cinema session for you at your request.

 

38/ What are the possible activities?

Every day we tell you about the activities you can do in the region: horseback or camel rides, quad biking, surfing, kitesurfing, visits to the medina and the countryside souks... We are here to help you make the most of your stay!
